Our electromagnetic (EM) simulation tool, EMX®, allows designers to simulate large RF circuit blocks, characterize the behavior of passive components and analyze the parasitics due to interconnect. More than 50 companies rely on EMX to verify their ICs.  The world’s major foundries use EMX to develop passive component models for their process design kits. 

Position Description

The member of technical staff (MTS) will work with senior software developers to enhance the accuracy, performance, capacity, and functionality of Integrand’s products EMX and Continuum. The MTS will also work with application engineers to develop new capabilities and debug difficult issues. Responsibilities will include running evaluations, training, tool adoption, and customer support.  A successful candidate will have a strong software and algorithms background, preferably in the domain of electronic design automation (EDA).


  • Develop ways of using EMX for new applications
  • Debug test cases with accuracy, performance, capacity, or functional issues
  • Serve as the primary technical interface to assigned customers
  • Support and maintain EMX technology files and kits for a variety of foundry nodes
  • Prepare technical documents, white papers and presentations illustrating features of the software


  • Masters or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or similar
  • Basic knowledge of IC design including knowledge of passive components such as inductors, capacitors and transformers
  • Experience with Perl, shell scripts, Matlab and the Linux command line environment.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or trade shows to do demos and technical presentations


  • Experience in using EMX
  • Experience developing software, preferably in the EDA domain
  • Knowledge of numerical methods and an understanding of integral equation techniques and non-linear optimization
  • Programming experience in Cadence’s SKILL extension language or LISP/Scheme
  • Experience with using Cadence tools for layout and simulation of IC designs
  • Understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuits
  • Knowledge of passive and active device modeling
